Four stars in the cafe/deli/lunch spot category.

CHC serves up tasty sandwiches, along with pizzas and calzones. It's good, and fairly priced. A great lunch spot if you happen to be near them.

It's quite a feat for a place to make me crave a sandwich.

I never crave sandwiches, especially when I usually think that I can create something similar at home. Well, CornerHouseCafe, you have officially made me crave your wonderfully simple yet delicious creations.

Situated in the heart of the business district in Sorrento Valley is this hidden gem. Around the lunch time rush, you can expect to see those who work around the area line up for their meal at the CornerHouse (aptly named since the restaurant is in what once was a house...on a corner).

Although the menu is vast, and includes pizza, salads, pasta, I can only speak about the sandwiches that I have ordered here. Each and every one is great, but the one that makes my mouth water is definitely the Ironman. Grilled chicken breast, fresh avocado, swiss cheese, tomato, sprouts (oh how I love sprouts), and a very tasty honey mustard dressing. It's almost perfection slapped between two pieces of wonderful bread (as a tip, I'd skip their sourdough and request the sandwiches be made with their whole wheat....drool).

And, you are served chips with your sandwich. Delish.

Outdoor seating is the only option. But on nice days, it's no problem...welcomed, actually. What a better way to spend your lunch hour then with friends, under the trees, enjoying a great meal? However, during the rainy seasons, to-go may be your best friend.

For less than $7.00, I am one happy and full girl.

This place rocks.

Their sandwiches are the perfect size, all fresh ingredients and a very solid menu. Everyone raves about the Ironman, which is supposedly their best seller. Had it once and it was pretty good, but I'm not a big avocado (on sammiches) or sprout fan. I am addicted to the Turkey Deluxe. I could probably eat one for lunch a week or two straight and not get tired of it. Their homemade sweet & sour dressing in the sandwich is a perfect compliment to the saltiness of the included potato chips. Love it.

Had the pizza once and it was alright... But I come here for the sandwiches.

Oh, and this place IS open on weekends (Well, Saturdays) until 3pm.

4 stars for the "cheap eats" division - not to be confused with my 4 star "fine dining". :) This is a great place to come on a lunch break - and you kind of have to come during the week anyway because last time I rolled in on a weekend on my way to the beach, it was closed. BOO!

Cute little yellow house with a surprisingly extensive menu. Sandwiches, soups, pasta specials, even kabobs. I always get their Baja Chicken Sandwich. It's a pretty exact match to the sandwich I LOVE at Board and Brew. So this is an alternative place to go if you love that sandwich as much as I do: marinated grilled chicken, swiss, mayo, shredded lettuce, tomato, and jalapenos on a fresh toasted french roll. Comes with a small bag of Lay's. Also lovin' the tropical fresh brewed iced tea option, in addition to the soda fountain which is interestingly located in what may have at one time been a window of the house.

On a nice day, this is a great place to sit outside and enjoy our beautiful San Diegan sun - there are plenty of umbrella'ed tables, plastic outdoor tables, wooden and cement benches to choose from. They also have a nice garden and full-grown trees for ample shade. There are some other little eating places attached - a chinese/vietnamese place and a mexican place. I haven't tried either but that gives you some options in case your eating buddies want something different. Recommended for lunch!

Great sandwiches! A ton of items to choose from. And they deliver, which is key, since I only get 35 minutes for lunch (not enough time to go down there to order).

I work nearby as a teacher. Every now and again we get to have catered Corner House at school (staff appreciation day, a baby shower) Corner House is our equivalent of the business lunch. For us, that's fancy, and the staff lounge gets packed.

Anytime I hear of business types heading out for fancy, expense-accounted "business" lunches, sipping glasses of "business" wine, and discussing their "business," I think to myself, "Well, at least I get to have Corner House three times a year." And I'm not jealous at all.

Awesome place to go for lunch...They have sandwiches that rival Board and Brew for my tasty vote. I've had their kabob salad which was tasty and healthy. Their gyro was good as well. I've seen people order their lunch specials which are usually some type of pasta. They look good, but I haven't tried them...maybe someday I will. Like the other good lunch spots its only open during the week which sucks if you want some good eats on the weekend. It is also surrounded by a couple other places I have yet to try b/c if I make the effort i am compelled to get food here. My regular is the baja chicken sand which or chicken club. Marinated chicken with all the fixings on a perfectly soft yet crunchy roll. My only gripe is their chip selection which is basically just your standard Lay potato. Service is usually great and you get your food relatively quick. Kinda in a hidden area of Sorrento Valley which makes it a nice little find. Try it out sometime if you're in the area or cater a business lunch....you won't be disappointed!

I've only been here once, so, while I'm not exactly qualified to write a review, I just had to -- on account of the ambiance. I will write another review once I've tried the food enough to form a legitimate opinion with substantial data -- but my first time here was spectacularly pleasant!

The wait staff is EXTREMELY friendly, and not in the obnoxious over the top, pretentious way...rather genuine friendliness to the point that you can tell the workers are happy to be there! A woman in my party ordered a smoothie from the smoothie/coffee bar and the woman working the counter brought it over to our table when it was ready, not only delivering the smoothie, but also making sure everybody at the table had everything they needed...and this isn't really a 'we serve you at your table' kind of place. Generally you place your order and then go back up to pick it up when it is ready and your number is called.

Anyhow,  I felt compelled to write a review because the total experience from beginning to end here just left me with a warm, happy feeling to the point that I felt rejuvenated and ready to finish the insanely awful work day at the hideous company for which I work (around the corner on El Camino Real, the big white building, owned by one of the area billionaires, that looks nice but inside the horror that exists...too bad one can't review companies on this site).

Definitely a fantastic destination for a welcomed lunch break, serving all of it's intended purposes.

Decor = CUTE!!! Vibe = Positive and Happy! Food = Delicious!

Great place if you work in hip hot and happenin Sorrento Valley.  The Ironman sandwich is the best, but I just had the BEST veggie sandwich from there today for lunch.

The outdoor seating is a plus, but parking can be an issue.  Get there early, this place gets full especially in the summertime.

I love the Corner House Cafe. For a tiny place on the edge of Sorrento Valley, they have lots of delicious lunches to choose from -- sandwiches, pizza, pastas, rotisserie chicken, salads, and yummy fries. My personal favorites are the Turkey Croissant sandwich and the Chicken Tequila Fettuccine. The only downside is that the seating is outdoors only, so in the summer time when you're sitting outside in business casual attire you are going to get hot and sweaty. But I highly recommend stopping by this place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Sorrento Valley.

This place is one-stop shopping, they have a bounty of choices.  Situated on the corner of Sorrento Valley Road and Carmel Mountain Road in a business district. This old house has been saved from the office building it would have become if not for the cafe owners. Has a wonderful outdoor seating area creatively designed with murals, native plants and plenty of shade and privacy from the street. In the adjoining cottage is a Mexican shop, cash only that serves up big, artery clogging, tasty burritos. And the cafe also offers a bevy of brews...coffee that is, and some tasty shakes too. The Corner House has great sandwiches, never got one I haven't liked or left me hungry. The prices are average for a large sandwich, but don't try getting away with a free drink...they don't like that.  I only mention that because I use to pilfer the soda fountain, I don't know why I did it...I think I was going through a phase, but I've changed my ways. Anyway, they caught me and I didn't go back until they changed employees. Now, I am fully legit and I love the owners too...they deserve the extra buck fifty for the drink.

Excellent Sandwiches & Hot Meals Too!

Located in the business area of Sorrento Valley the Corner House Cafe is always busy at lunchtime. They have a menu that not only includes sandwiches, but hot foods such as Pizza, Pasta, Chicken Plates, etc.
The Corner House Cafe is a little more pricey then some other local lunch choices, but I think the food might be a little better quality. If you want to treat yourself to something special for lunch once in a while then come here.
